I’m proud and happy to announce my new album “Lichtung” is available now on Line/12k.

The sound work Lichtung is the original score for a dance solo by choreographers Antoine Effroy and Anne Rudelbach and performed by Catherine Jodoin. The performance premiered on March 26, 2008 at Kampnagel in Hamburg, Germany.

The concept of the dance performance was to begin from a unique situation and sustain this physical state as long as possible.
By adding unique and non-repetitive movements, the choreography slowly evolves, starting at the back of the stage and gradually moving towards the front, as if by zooming inward. The sound follows this evolution or curve, not necessarily in volume, but rather by changes in density and speed to accompany the performer’s phrase changes.

Lichtung was written and composed in Brussels, Belgium and Hamburg, Germany by Yves De Mey.

Post Resonance blues

There’s a review of the Resonance Festival on their website.  Unfortunately only in dutch…

And some pictures online at Resident Advisor.

I had a great time, meeting tons of people, listening to hours of superb music in a very enthusiastic and stimulating environment.

Thanks again to the Resonance people for having me there, and a big thanks to Peter Van Hoesen for all kinds of support, as well as Carsten Nicolai for the occasional fiddling with the master fader.

Live at Resonance festival

Saturday, February 21st, 2009

From Friday 27 ’till Sunday 29, Ghent-Belgium is the place to be.  The good people from Resonance are hosting an interesting festival with a mixed style line-up.

On Friday night, i’ll have the privilege to share stage with Alva Noto and Machinefabriek.  I’ll be presenting my new album “Lichtung”, soon to be released on Line.

On Saturday night, the main focus is on deep club music with Efdemin, Claro Intelecto, Move D & Benjamin Brunn and my good friend and partner in crime Peter Van Hoesen.

On Sunday night, the weekend ends in style with the (for Belgium) unique concert of Deepchord presents Echospace and Mokira, aka Andreas Tilliander.

In other words, a mighty 3 day event you simply shouldn’t miss!

All info can be found on the Resonance website.
