A week in noise

Sunday, May 31st, 2009

It was a massive week, with intense gigs by My Bloody Valentine, Fear Falls Burning and Sunn O))), Mika Vainio and last but not least Peter Van Hoesen.  Spending 4 out of 7 nights with earplugs, good people, and passionate music….  Deep inside i was probably making up for not attending Mutek this year…

Eavesdropper live at Lost in Sound

Wednesday, May 20th, 2009

On Friday 22nd, Eavesdropper will be playing live at Lost in Sound, hosted by Plain.  Afterwards, our main Plain man Sensu and Eavesdropper will join forces for a DJ-set blending techno, dubstep and electronica into a deep and integrated set.

All this happens between 8 pm (warm up) until 1 am at Café Belga – Brussels

And guess what: it’s free!

On top of that, word has there might be an afterparty – mixset – thing at another location.  Just like in the old days…

I hope to see you there.

Timecast with Philip Sherburne + Eavesdropper DJ-set + Yves De Mey live

Thursday, May 14th, 2009

We’re happy to announce the second installment of Timecast, the monthly podcast hosted by Peter Van Hoesen (Time to Express) and Eavesdropper.

This month, Philip Sherburne, music journalist (The Wire magazine a.o.) – producer – DJ, delivers a deep, massive and rather sexy mix of dubstepping and technoid tracks, mixed in a well thought out fashion.  It’s really that kind of mix that sucks you in and doesn’t let you go until the very last bit.  Highly recommended listening, so please go to the Timecast page for more info and all the links you might need to get hold of this  delicious masterpiece.

On Friday night, you can find Eavesdropper behind the decks at Bar Walvis – Dansaertstraat – Brussels for a unhealthy long DJ-set, spinning mellow dub, relentless dubtechno, sparkling electronica and probably some other things too.

The whole situation starts around 9pm, and, just to be clear, i would love to see you there.

Sunday afternoon, you’ll have a decent excuse to skip family matters, because for the second time les monsieurs Sylvain Chaveau & Stéphane Garin host their Micro_Concert, a concert afternoon in a warm environment.  The basic principle is easy: artists are invited to play concerts with a duration between 1 second and 2 minutes.

Line up for Sunday: Falter Bramnk (field recordings), Stéphane Garin (phonography, percussion, music box) and Yves De Mey (for the occasion strictly analog)

You can only make a reservation by sending an extremely kind email to sylvainchauveau [at] gmail [dot] com or garin.stephane [at] gmail [dot] com

They will send the address in their reply to you.

If you’re on Facebook, you can find more info here.

Needless to say you are not supposed to miss this sweet event.
